is a well-established Greek American restaurateur with an impressive career spanning five decades. His culinary training began with some of the top chefs in Europe and in 1966 he moved from Athens Greece to Tallahassee, Florida where his local restaurant career began by working with his brother Jimmy Koikos at Jimmy’s restaurant on North Monroe street. He opened his first restaurant “The Spartan Restaurant & Caucus Rooms” in 1969 at the Duval Hotel and then followed its success with a string of successful and fondly remembered restaurants such as the Brothers Three, Brothers Three by the Sea, Country Inn BBQ, The Surf & Turf, Torreya Grill and Georgio’s Fine Food & Spirits.
His dedication to his guests and employees is unsurpassed, and his personal attention to every detail at all levels of operation of his establishments is the key to his success. Georgio is well known for personally greeting guests and visiting every table each evening to oversee his guests dining experience. A testament to the mutual respect shared between Georgio and his staff is impressive – many of them have worked for the Koikos family for 20 years or longer. Georgio’s strives to uphold our food preparation traditions of using only the finest ingredients and doing things “the old fashioned way”, without modern day shortcuts.
Georgio’s is the family’s latest successful venture, which was established March 4th, 1994 at 3425 Thomasville Road and is now located at 2971 Apalachee Parkway. With the help of his wife and partner Karen and his daughter Leni, one or more family members are always on the premises – a genuine family business. Here at Georgio’s we treat all of our guests like family and truly hope you enjoy the one of a kind dining experience Georgio’s has to offer. Cheers my friends!
