EORGE KOIKOS (Georgio) is a well established restauranteur with a career spanning over five decades. His culinary training began with some of the top chefs in Europe and in 1966 he moved from Athens, Greece to join his brother Jimmy in Tallahassee, Florida where he worked with him at Jimmy’s Restaurant. George fell in love with Tallahassee and after a few years of hard work, learning the language of the land and making many friends within the community George opened his first restaurant The Spartan Restaurant & Caucus Rooms at the Duval Hotel in 1969. Following the success of the Spartan Restaurant George opened a string of fondly remembered restaurants such as The Brothers Three & The Brother’s Three By The Sea with his brothers Jimmy & Pete and also County Inn BBQ, The Surf & Turf, Torreya Grill and Georgio’s Fine Food & Spirits with his wife and partner Karen Koikos.
Georgio’s Fine Food & Spirits was established March 4th, 1994 by George & Karen Koikos as one of Tallahassee’s premier upscale restaurants. Georgio’s menu focuses on serving fresh, locally sourced seafood & Prime steaks with Mediterranean and world cuisine influences. Using only the finest ingredients George and chef Grant Beane continue to delight diners to this day. To complete your dining experience Georgio’s offers an extensive wine list along with a full service bar & lounge. Georgio’s Fine Food & Spirits also provides private banquet rooms that are perfect for business dinner conferences or any special event.
George’s personal attention to every detail at all levels of operation is the key to his success. Being present to ensure that the food, the service and that the overall dining experiences is top notch is a rule that has served him well through the years. George is well known for personally greeting guests and visiting every table each evening to oversee his guests dining experience.
